Commitment to the Environment
Guillemette Masonry has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. Being one of the oldest trades in existence, masonry is by nature a sustainable practice. Most of our materials such as cement, clay brick, and concrete products come directly from the earth, and can be returned directly to the earth through clean fill or recycled once their lifespan has expired. We will continue to work towards becoming greener by seeking and developing new sustainable products and practices.
Company Safety Policy
Health and safety are a top priority for this company and it is the philosophy of Guillemette Masonry that nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely. Protecting employees from workplace injury and disease is a fundamental objective for this company. It is our policy to perform work in the safest manner possible consistent with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario and the Regulations made under the Act.
The management of Guillemette Masonry is vitally interested in the health and safety of every employee and every reasonable effort will be made to ensure that the health and safety of each employee is protected at all times. We will work to develop, implement, and evaluate our health and safety program to be as effective as possible. We will also strive to achieve the safest possible work environment by requiring that all employees receive ongoing and current training in health and safety, and by maintaining communications between management and staff.
It is, however, the responsibility of each employee to adhere to the company health and safety policy and program of Guillemette Masonry and to work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario and its Regulations. Compliance with the company health and safety policy and program will be regularly reviewed at all employee levels and violations will be recorded and addressed.
It is in the best interest of all parties to consider accident prevention in every activity. The assistance and support of each member of this company is needed and everyone is expected to work together to maintain and improve our safe working environment. We welcome any suggestions on how we might improve our safety program since input and co-operation are necessary to run a successful safety program and business. This safety policy represents Guillemette Masonry’s commitment to safety and to a safe work environment for all our employees, our clients, and our company. It has been approved and signed by the owners of Guillemette Masonry on February 1, 2011.
